Call for SYMPOSIA:

We are currently accepting proposals for symposia

Symposia are 120-minute blocks that allow for extended, interactive discussion on a specific topic, focusing on a cluster of independent yet related papers. Each symposium consists of four slots, and should consist either of four presentations, or of three presentations and a discussion.

Proposals must include a general abstract describing the symposium as a whole (max. 1 page), as well as the abstracts for all individual presentations (each no longer than 1 page, plus up to 1 extra page for figures and references). Sufficient detail should be provided to allow peer reviewers to judge the merit of the proposal. The person submitting the symposium proposal is responsible for securing the permission and co-operation of all participants before the proposal is submitted.

All proposals should be anonymous. Please delete from your submission any details that might identify you (including those in the filename).

For details on formatting requirements, and to download the proposal template, see here.

Proposals should be uploaded to the ISB14 submission portal by 1 September 2022.

Enquiries regarding the academic content of the proposals should be addressed to the ISB14 Scientific Committee via ISB14.ScientificCommittee@westernsydney.edu.au. For general inquiries about the conference please email the Organisational Committee at ISB14@mq.edu.au.

CHARTER OF THE COORDINATOR

图片

Each symposium applicant is considered to be the symposium coordinator. Their role is to best organize the scientific orientation and internal logistics of this mini scientific event in accordance with the support and framework provided by conference organizers. They benefit from the reduced registration fee.

Key steps in the procedure:

Submit a symposium proposal.

When calling for individual submissions, it is advisable to advertise widely enough among specialists in the field to ensure that proposals are received. A symposium will only open once 10 proposals have been submitted.

Coordinators act as the scientific committee and select the individual proposals in accordance with the AILA assessment grid.

Coordinators ensure the conformity of the different papers selected.

Coordinators are responsible for moderating their symposium during the selected slot.
